The Barns Green Music Festival is something that we, as a committee, are
really excited about. Our aim is to promote music and arts to the local
community, as well as raise money and awareness for the people of our chosen
Previous festivals have been very well supported, which is why we want the
next one to be the most successful to date.
Unfortunately, due to certain time constraints the committee have realised
that it will be too challenging to achieve this for July 2015 and therefore
regrettably, the decision has been made to postpone the event until summer
More things need to be put in place to achieve the best festival Barns Green
has to offer and we need to ensure all our resources are working together to
achieve what we hope you agree will be an amazing local music festival that
best achieves our goals and reflects the ambition of the organisers.
We will be continuing to raise awareness for the festival during 2015
through our Acoustic Showcase Evenings and with other local events. We would
like to thank you for expressing an interest in helping us in 2015 and hope
that you will continue to show your support moving forward in to 2016.

Hello BGMF fans new and old, the festival is back 12th July 2015
The countdown has begun.

I asked Kaytie for a few words about how BGMF started, here they are…
Barns Green Music Festival was begun by local singer and Voice Coach, Kaytie
Harding (Voice From The Coal Shed). It was initially going to be a small
open air concert for one of her choirs, Who Dares Sings. Once the group of
determined ladies realised that it could be so much more, they put their
heads together and came up with a day of music for the Barns Green
With Kaytie at the helm, Bev, Sam and Jean started working
relationships with The Speedboats, Elvis Impersonator Anthony Tidey, a group
of Bangra Boys from Crawley, The Flying Toads and of course Who Dares Sings
who loved having such a huge crowd to sing to!
The next year was even bigger with more bands, lessons learnt and with a special commission for all
the local primary schools called Mick Mills Mile written by Mike Henry and
Sue Cooper, conducted by Kaytie. It has been such a pleasure to see the
festival grow further and become one of the community high point of the
year. Another Barns Green special!
Millie Cartwright performed for The BGMF relaunch. Millie is a talented young vocalist well established within the Sussex area music scene. Based in Billingshurst and accompanied by guitarist Phil Smith the duo cover a wide range of classic songs new and old adapted to their own acoustic style offering a unique sense of sophistication tailored to their laid back and mellow sound.
